Eutelsat Unveils New Satellite Network Portal in Luanda, Angola.

During the concluded Agnotic 2024 event, Eutelsat announced the unveiling of its new Satellite Network Portal (SNP) for the Eutelsat OneWeb low Earth orbit network located in Luanda, Angola.

The Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies, and Social Communication (MINTTICS), Mr Mario Oliveira and Chairman of the Board of Directors of INACOM (Instituto Angolano das Comunicações), Mr Joaquim Muhongo, officially received and signed the authorisation to activate the new ground station site, which will enhance connectivity within Angola and across the wider African continent.

Satellite Network Portals are crucial for enabling seamless data transmission from satellites to users on Earth. The Luanda SNP will be vital in providing high-speed internet access, particularly in underserved areas, and fostering socio-economic development. This new portal marks Eutelsat OneWeb’s dedication to enhancing global connectivity and reducing the digital divide.

According to Amr Ashour, Senior Manager of Market Access Middle East and Africa (MEA) at Eutelsat OneWeb, “The issuance of this license represents a monumental advancement in our mission to transform telecommunications. The state-of-the-art facility will significantly enhance connectivity, optimise data transmission, and offer profound benefits to both metropolitan and rural areas throughout the African continent. We are honoured to commemorate this milestone and look forward to an innovative future.”
