Q-KON Pty, Ltd (Q-KON), a leading African provider of satellite communications, has signed a strategic trilateral agreement with Beijing Guodian High-Tech Technology Co., Ltd. (Guodian Gaoke) and China StarWin Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (StarWin) to roll out next-generation Internet of Things (IoT) services leveraging the Tianqi Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation across South Africa.
The alliance positions Q-KON as the authorised service provider for Tianqi-based IoT solutions, leveraging its deep local market expertise and distribution network.
Guodian Gaoke will supply the LEO constellation and associated satellite systems, while StarWin will provide certified ground terminals to ensure compliance with South African technical and regulatory standards.
StarWin is a global leader in satellite communication terminals and antennas, offering advanced Ku and Ka-band Electronically Steered Array (“ESA”) terminals for land, sea, and air across GEO, LEO, and MEO orbits.
These terminals can integrate seamlessly with UHF, L, and S-band systems, supporting the Tianqi IoT constellation and multi-orbit networks.
StarWin’s ultra-compact ESA terminals, now in mass production, have earned qualification from dozens of world-renowned GEO and LEO satellite operators for Ku and Ka bands and meet international standards, with certifications including FCC, CE, RCM, Anatel, etc.
