Brigadier Hillary Kipkosgey, the Acting Director General of the Kenya Space Agency (KSA), hosted Mr Hu Zhaobin, the Deputy Director General of the Deep Space Exploration Laboratory (DSEL), who led a delegation from DSEL and the Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA) today. The visit aimed to discuss potential avenues for collaboration in deep space exploration.
During the meeting, Brigadier Kipkosgey briefed the delegation on the activities of the Kenya Space Agency and welcomed discussions on possible collaboration between the organisations.
Mr Hu Zhaobin shared insights on China’s advancements in deep space exploration, particularly focusing on lunar explorations. He highlighted both completed lunar missions and exciting future projects undertaken by their team.
One of the visit’s highlights was discussions on Kenya’s potential participation in the International Lunar Research Station (ILRS), an initiative led by DSEL.
Representatives from China Volant Industry Co. Ltd. Africa Business Alliance and the Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology were also present at the meeting.
