The Gabonese Agency for Space Studies and Observations AGEOS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding MoU with Star.Vision, a provider of high-resolution satellite imagery.
The agreement was formalised during the NewSpace Africa Conference 2025.
The partnership grants AGEOS access to Star.Vision’s very high-resolution VHR satellite data, with imagery resolutions between 20 and 30 centimetres.
This capability will support several key national applications, including
Border Monitoring: Enhanced surveillance of land boundaries to improve security and territorial oversight.
Infrastructure Security: Regular observation of port facilities and critical infrastructure to detect and mitigate risks.
National Security: Strengthened situational awareness for defence and emergency response operations.
Project Tracking: Objective assessment of large-scale government initiatives, such as infrastructure and environmental programmes.
The agreement reflects Gabon’s ongoing efforts to integrate space-based technologies into its national governance framework.
AGEOS aims to improve data-driven decision-making in security, infrastructure management, and public policy evaluation by acquiring advanced satellite imagery.
