Dragonfly Aerospace has announced the launch of its latest range of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and ITAR-Free space components. According to the press release, these cutting-edge components have achieved Technology Readiness Level 9 (TRL 9), indicating their proven reliability and performance in the most demanding space environments.
Reliable and Versatile Solutions for the Global Space Industry
Dragonfly Aerospace’s new line-up of space components is designed to focus on quality and precision, adhering to the rigorous standards set by the European Space Agency’s ECSS. Furthermore, this commitment to excellence ensures that these components meet the requirements for mission success, offering reliable and versatile solutions for the global space industry.
Marcello Bartolini, Head of Engineering at Dragonfly Aerospace, expressed his enthusiasm for the new products: “We are thrilled to introduce our new line of space components. “Our team has worked tirelessly to create components that meet and exceed modern space missions’ stringent requirements. Adhering to the highest quality standards enables our customers to achieve mission success with greater confidence.”
Key Components in the Line-Up
- EPS-LP (Electrical Power System Low Power): Now in its 8th generation and flying on EOS SAT-1, this advanced 28V Electrical Power System is designed for spacecraft power control and distribution. In addition, scalable for power input and output up to 1500W, EPS-LP offers exceptional reliability and performance, making it ideal for micro and mini-satellites.
- 28-300 Battery Module: This 28V Lithium-Ion battery module provides spacecraft systems with proven resilience in energy storage and exceptional peak power handling capability required for high-performance missions. Its modular design allows spacecraft system engineers to scale energy storage and power to meet specific mission requirements. Similarly, the 28-300 Battery Module can be implemented as a standalone solution or used with the EPS-LP for enhanced interoperability. Additionally, it is easily adopted in global markets due to its ITAR-free COTS components.
- RW-1Nms (Reaction Wheel): Engineered specifically for imaging satellites, this high-performance reaction wheel offers exceptional platform stability and precise control. In addition, it is ideal for missions requiring swift slew manoeuvres and high maximum momentum.
- HDRTx (High-Data-Rate X-Band Transmitter): This flight-proven, high-reliability transmitter is designed for low Earth orbit spacecraft and can deliver high data rates. Furthermore, it utilises DVB-S2 technology to optimise link margin and maximise data throughput.
Full Satellite Avionics Suite
In addition to the standalone components, Dragonfly Aerospace offers a comprehensive satellite avionics suite, which includes:
- OBC-Q7S (Onboard Computer): A high-reliability onboard computer designed for LEO microsatellites, offering substantial processing power and memory to run a complete satellite software suite, including high-fidelity Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS) with Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR).
- SSMM (Solid-State Mass Memory): This high-speed, high-reliability data storage solution for LEO spacecraft offers 512 GB of storage capacity and read/write speeds of up to 26 Gbps.
Achieve Mission Success with TRL 9 Components
Dragonfly Aerospace’s TRL 9 components are now available for integration into various space missions. These robust and dependable solutions are ideal for satellite manufacturers and space agencies looking to achieve mission success without the constraints of ITAR regulations. Therefore, by providing cutting-edge technology with proven reliability, Dragonfly Aerospace continues to lead the way in the global space industry, enabling successful and innovative missions worldwide.
