According to the news report released by KSA, the joint efforts with the Nakuja project team from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have led to the third launch of the N-3 rockets, named Kabura, Kifaru, Simba, and Tembo. The feat underscored the strides the project team took and emphasised the dedication to advancing rocket technology in the region, aligning with the long-term objectives of the initiative.
Furthermore, the initiative focuses on scientific breakthroughs and serves as a source of inspiration for future aerospace professionals. The initiative aims to cultivate a new wave of talent in space exploration by offering a platform for hands-on experience and applied theoretical understanding.
The Kenya Space Agency (KSA) joined forces with the Nakuja project team from JKUAT to jointly build rockets, aiming to deploy satellites into orbit in 2019 ultimately. Subsequently, the Nakuja team achieved a significant milestone by successfully creating two solid model rockets, N-1 and N-2. This accomplishment marked a crucial step in the collaborative efforts involving the university, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and KSA.
